This past Saturday, a group of our students volunteered their time to the Orlando Wetlands Festival. The event was a success! Check it out for yourself in the wonderful pictures below.

Election Time!

Officer positions will be opening up for next year so we are prepping elections. Below is a description of all officer positions and duties. If a position interests you, please be sure to prep for elections, which will be held on March 20, 2012. Those elected will go into office May 1, 2012.

- President
                All SGA Paperwork
                Host at least one social a semester
                Handle all AMI information
                Help with all fundraisers    

-Vice President
                Oversee all volunteer events
                Keep track of all events/committee members
                Make up all meeting agendas
                Relay for Life (Spring Term)
 
-  Treasurer
                Plan at least two fundraisers a semester
                Keep track of all NMSA/AMI money
                Assist Fundraising Committee   

 - Secretary
               Make meeting PowerPoints
               Keep up with T-shirts
               Fall- NMSA t-shirts
               Spring- Relay for Life Shirts
               Keep all meeting minutes
 
- Historian
               Keep track of all photos
               Third Semester Recognition
               Host at least two tabling events a semester   

*All officers must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good standing with the university (no holds on account)

Congo River Mini-Golf Fundraiser

One of our nonprofit groups is hosting a social as their semester fundraiser. The event is an NMSA social at Congo River Golf for new, current and old members as well as a chance to meet your fellow Relay for Life team members before the big day! Everyone attending is welcome to bring friends :))

The tickets are $10.00 (usually $12.00 at the golf place) and never expire so tickets may be bought even if you cannot attend the social on March 23rd.  ALL of the proceeds will go to the AMI trip in January :)

[Pics] Cars for the Cure Car Show - 2/3/12

 This past Saturday a group of us volunteered to assist with the American Lung Association's Cars for a Cure event. Our tasks included collecting donations for all-you-can-eat/drink wristbands, fundraising, passing out programs, and assisting with food and drinks. Cars for the Cure Car Show

This video is from last year's Cars for the Cure car show. Tomorrow we'll be volunteering at the American Lung Association's annual event. If you signed up as a volunteer for tomorrow's event, you can expect to help with beverage pouring, event day fundraising, registration, and more. More event details below:
