Looking to volunteer locally?

Well, it's time you checked out niceSERVE.

What: niceSERVE is a faith-based event that mobilizes people to serve locally. This event connects volunteers and non-profits by creating helpful service projects that are geared towards revitalizing neighborhoods, communities and assisting non-profits. About 1500 volunteers participate from 3 different launch sites to partner with 50-60 non-profits. Although the event is faith-based, you do not have to be a member of a church or even Christian to serve alongside us. All are welcome and encouraged to join!

When:  niceSERVE 16 will be happening on on Saturday, February 12th from 830am to 12noon. Everyone launches from a single site and projects start at 9am. Lunch begins at 12noon and is served until 130pm.

Where: 3 different launch sites: Summit Herndon (Main campus: 735 Herndon Ave near Fashion Square Mall), Summit Waterford (Near Waterford and Lk Underhill). Summit at the Plaza (The Plaza Theatre on Bumby Ave.)

How: Go to www.niceserve.org and click "Getting Started" and follow the prompts. OR Find the free iPhone app which is available and will begin running on Sunday, January 23rd. OR Sign up in person as a niceSERVE Kiosk at a Summit Church Location (www.summitconnect.org for locations). If you sign up in person, you can pick up a shirt right away. If you sign up online/app you can pick up a shirt on the event day, or let Liz Hartsell know you've signed up and tell her your shirt size. She'll bring it to the next Seminar Class.
